The East is Red

“The East is Red”, a song that has been sang for half a century, was popular all around our motherland. Even decades after and in today, peoples in the old revolutionary areas are still living a life of the former way and are waiting for happiness. Adopting the shape of sculptures from Qin and Han Dynasties, and the main color black, red and white of lacquer from Han Dynasty, I represented the simplicity and generosity of Chinese farmer. Black color just matches black quilted cotton jacket of early farmers; red color symbolizes blood and revolution; movements without almost any change represented the Chinese people who are supporting revolution and waiting for happiness with concerted efforts.

All arts could be misinterpretated. Art is supposed to embrace different views from different people.
